On March 31, 2024 at 8:20 AM UTC, after about 2 months of downtime, KamTape went back online for about 8 hours, and went offline again because of ByteDance's Bytespider web crawling bots, who were "DDoS" attacking the site. Jr temporarily brought the site offline and the co-owner "pi" had written a message on the downtime page about it.
On April 1, 2024, a brief message went up promising the "Next generation of KamTape" and later came back to an April Fools update.
On May 9, 2024, jr was about to announce the website's shutdown but before he did that, he wanted to find a compromise before doing it, and instead of shutting it down he gave pi full ownership of the website before jr stated a message saying he might occasionally stay as a developer even though he lost interest on KamTape.
On June 26, 2024, due to the uploader being broken and not allowing people to upload videos for over two weeks, the owner pi put a brief message stating that he was "aware that the uploading system is broken" and that the uploader would eventually start working within a week or two as well.
On June 28, 2024, the website went down without any notice nor warning. This is because the domain had expired; the owner pi talked to jr about renewing the domain and the domain was renewed a few days later.
April 27/28, the website went down due to a hacker overloading it.
