Ki Miru (pronounced: "Key" "Me" "Roo"), originally called, Ki Doukan, is a future and upcoming YouTube Alternative website that will use YouTube's 2012 layout (definitely being the November 26, 2012 and December 11, 2012). The site idea was created by SavageOtaku18 once as he learns how one of the programs work when making a YouTube alternative. It will also incorporate some elements from the Japanese video hosting service, NicoNico.

Creation

Around May 11, 2020, while still inspired by the other alternatives, like VidLii, that uses YouTube's 2008 header and the 2009 looking pages, and BitView that currently uses YouTube's 2008 layout, SavageOtaku18 thought of an idea to develop a YouTube Alternative website, but one that uses YouTube's 2012 layout (where the icon is next to the Sign In and Username and the profile icon being next to the username in the comment section). The original name for Ki Doukan was originally called "Vi Douka". It seemed to be okay at first until SavageOtaku18 thought of a better and a new name after using two Japanese words, being "Ki" and "Doukan", which now, instead of keeping it as "Vi Douka", it was now called as "Ki Doukan".

As of now, the site name was now renamed as "KiMiru", since "Miru", a Japanese word for "View". It has also been stated that the site will not only just have the 2012 layout from YouTube, but will incorporate some elements from the Japanese video hosting service, NicoNico.

Namesake

"Ki" comes from a Japanese word being "Ki mi wa", which both, "Ki" and "Ki mi wa" mean "You". "Miru" means "View".
