LiiVid was a video hosting site that was built for the purpose of being a better moderated, community friendly (modified) rehost of it's inspiration VidLii.
Created by Vanillo administrator Aaron (also known as AM) and evie, LiiVid launched on April 11th, 2023 after many users within the VidLii community itself were unhappy with the direction that VidLii itself was going in. This was most likely due to the fact that the site as of May 2023 has allowed those with extremist leanings to upload whatever content they posted without the fear of facing any meaningful consequences.
The site's goal was to avoid making the same mistakes that VidLii by making trust and safety it's main priority, while also building on what made VidLii originally appealing to newcomers in 2018.
On August 19, 2023, LiiVid announced they were shutting down and the site now redirect to BitView's site.
